MTN XtraTime gives qualifying customers on their network access to airtime on credit when their balance of accounts is too low for them to usually keep up with an on-going call. Airtime earned on credit from the Xtratime platform can be used for all activities payable on their network.

When a customer who is eligible for Xtratime credit submits an application using the borrow me credit code, loaded into a special XtraTimeaccount. Customers may also verify the balance of their unique XtraTime account by dialing code *606#.

Who can use MTN XtraTime code *606#?

Currently, MTN XtraTime is only available to participating prepaid customers of MTN Nigeria. Prepaid subscribers on the network will borrow airtime when their balance of accounts is low.

Other eligibility criteria for this service include:

  • SIM must be prepaid
  • SIM must be registered
  • The customer’s main account balance must be between N0 and N12
  • The customer’s average monthly spend will also be considered
  • The customer must have paid up any previous Time associated charges.

Customers can use the XtraTime MTN platform by dialing *606#. The service menu will be shown on your phone screen:

  • Customers will then be able to verify eligibility status, request Airtime (XtraTime), request Data (XtraByte), and learn more by choosing “Next.”
  • Airtime that is advanced with MTN XtraTime can be used for all network charges.
  • Once the credit has been exhausted, the customer will not be allowed to conduct any other chargeable activities until the lent amount has been charged.
