Most university programs have received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission of Nigeria. In offering solutions to school issues from the skills they obtain, the university encourages its students to be creative.

According to our source, the college is not an accommodation facility. Imo State University also has no religious affiliation. Since most of its students are from the Igbo ethnic group, its student body is not so culturally diverse, with a few from southern Nigeria.

The university offers degree programs in science, humanities, management, education, farming, and medicine. At Imo State University, there is a vast student body, and admission to it is very competitive. Imo State University School is very inexpensive in terms of tuition [n100,000-n200,000], and many Nigerians can afford it, one of the variables affecting its large student body.

The 1999/2000 accreditation exercise results by the National Universities Commission (NUC) showed that the Nigerian public strongly recognized and approved the university. The university ranked first among all state universities in Nigeria and 10th overall among state and federal universities.

Imo State University in Owerri was briefly housed on the campus of the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education from May through December 1992. Subsequently, the university moved to its four-building premises on the Nwaebere Lake Campus at the Owerri Federal University of Technology. All of the Federal University’s relocation to the permanent site, Ihiagwa near Owerri, Lake Nwaebere Campus of the university, was then assigned for Imo State University. In February 1993, JAMB assigned the first batch of students to Imo State University. The National Universities Commission also formally approved the re-establishment of the university at Lake Nwaebere Campus in 1992.

IMSU JAMB Cut Off Point

Without further ado, the IMSU cut off point is 180. This means that you must either score exactly 180 or above before you can apply to purchase the post UTME form and be considered for admission by the management of Imo State University. Failure to score up to or above the IMSU cut off mark required would mean that you are no longer likely to be eligible for Imo State University admission for this session.

A negotiated score set by a particular institution as a basis for students’ admission into the study department is the cut-off point. This score is typically accredited to candidates based on their outcomes in a specific exam. However, in the admission process, students who have scored above the required cut-off mark will be admitted and preferentially considered over those who have met the precise cut off mark.
