On December 18th, 1970, Earl Simmons was born in Baltimore, Maryland. The family moved to Yonkers, New York, where he grew up. Earl’s dad left him at a young age, and his mother was abusive. He was mean and aggressive throughout his youth, which led to group homes and Earl’s survival on the streets.

In his teen years, Earl had many run-ins with the law and was often abusive. Survival on the streets caused him to be in and out of prison at a young age, and he was to use drugs and alcohol. Salvation came in hip-hop shape, and he started as a DJ and a human beat-box until he went on to rap.
