Hints on how to Delete your Google Search History

Do you need to locate a webpage or website that you last visited but can’t remember where it was? Perhaps you found it on your phone, but now you’re having trouble finding it on your computer. Thankfully, Google keeps track of all the online pages and links you’ve ever visited. You may use the history feature to find any webpage you’ve visited and return to it as if you’d never been lost in cyberspace—or your memory. Here’s how to use Google’s search history function to its full potential. You may see your Google account history at any time and from any device as long as your Gmail profile is synced across all of your devices. Google keeps track of all of your online and product searches, as well as the photos and videos you’ve seen, the apps you’ve used, and the blog entries you’ve read.

Viewing Your Search History

Your Google account history can be viewed on any device that has a browser, such as a Windows PC, Mac, smartphone, or tablet. To complete the transaction, all you need is your username and password. Here’s how you should proceed:

  • Open your browser and go to the Google homepage. If you haven’t already done so, go to the top right corner and click the “Sign In” icon, then enter your credentials.
  • From your profile icon in the top-right corner, select “Manage your Google Account.”
  • The tab “Data & Personalization” should be chosen.
  • Select “My Activity” from the “Activity and Timeline” box at the bottom of the page.
  • Scroll down the page or down the list and explore by date and time to utilize the general search box or the “Filter by Date and Product” option (Android, Maps, YouTube, and so on).

You’ll get a list of websites, apps, and updates for all of your Google Account’s devices if you choose one of the view options above. You may also use the search bar to find certain activities, apps, and websites. Among the filtering options are sorting by date, date range, and apps. The activity tab, as indicated above, keeps track of everything you’ve done with your Google account since you last cleared your history, assuming you ever did.

Deleting your Google Account History Manually

You can either delete your entire history or just select activity. You can remove one item at a time by clicking on the three dots next to each activity. You can also delete all of them at once by specifying how far back you want the activities deleted.

Here’s what you should do:

  • To get to the activity page, open your browser and put “My Activity” into the search bar.
  • Google My Activity should appear as the first result. Look for it and click on it if you don’t see it.
  • Once you’ve arrived, go to the left side and select “Activity controls.”
  • As you can see, Google account activity is divided into several categories. Each feature can be disabled one at a time. Examples include web searches and history, location data, device data, voice and audio activity, and YouTube history. If you click the little switch next to an option, Google will not remember your future actions.

You can also remove items based on their creation date. On the left side of the “Web & App Activity” pane, there are several options. By clicking “Remove activity by,” you can choose how far back you want to delete your activity. It can be a single day, or you can choose from one of the pre-designed options to clear everything from the preceding week, month, or account start date. You can also select which kind of data you want to delete.

Automatic Deletion

However, you have the option of having your history wiped automatically. At the top of the same page, you’ll see an option to “Choose to remove automatically.” This allows you to turn on the automated deletion feature, which eliminates the need to delete items manually.
