List of Video Editing Tools you Can Use

Below are some Video Editing Tools you can use to Edit your Video Online

Adobe Spark

Adobe Spark is a tool created by the same team that produced Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, etc., but the fact that it is easier to use varies from these tools.

For beginners, this makes it great! Spark is a developer of online media, but it can do more than just videos: it also helps you to create simple graphics from social media, simple web sites, video stories, and so on.

The Pros: There are a lot of models to choose from, so in very little time, you can create a good video. You can also select some background music for your videos from their audio library, and even record your own voiceover.

The Cons: It has minimal choices for your design preferences (tone schemes and fonts) on its free plan, and you cannot customize these. You’re going to be stuck with preset color palettes. It also does not have advanced video editing features, so you might find the Adobe Spark falls a little short if you’re looking for anything more than just a simple social media editor.

Pricing: You can try it out for free, but you will need to pay US$ 9.99 per month for an individual license, or US$ 19.99 per month (billed annually) for teams if you want an extended license (which helps you to personalize your designs).

Animoto Animoto

Animoto is another beginner-oriented online video application, which means it won’t have very advanced features either. It provides a very interesting way to organize your video: it has a collection of storyboard models for various kinds of audiovisual items, such as advertising videos, slideshows, motivational videos, etc.

You can add your own voiceover, just as in Spark, and pick from their (rather extensive) background music set! Another nice thing to remember is that they offer a Getty Images subscription for their Technical and Business plans, which is pretty cool if you plan to add stock images or footage to your project.

The Pros: The storyboard models, their compilation of songs, and a lot of integration services for social media, including an Instagram-like filter package that you can add to your video clips. It’s a very easy software to learn as well.

The Cons: It doesn’t have a timetable for video editing, which takes away much of the versatility you would have with a conventional video editor. There is no live preview, too, which can be frustrating if you want to check your changes while you edit in real-time.

Pricing: It’s free if the Animoto branding on your videos doesn’t appeal to you. You can pay US$ 33 a month for a Professional account, or US$ 49 for a Team account if you want to get rid of that.

Clipchamp

If you feel confident and want to use a tool that’s a little more difficult to learn but gives you more flexibility to edit, then you can try Clipchamp. It advertises itself as “the first pro-featured online video editing software” and is aimed at both personal and technical users.

The Pros: Clipchamp features a proper timeline, unlike most online video editors. Without being too complex, it is also fairly advanced! If you are somewhat concerned about privacy concerns, this is also a great tool for you. Instead of uploading your files to the website’s servers, you can opt to keep your files in your browser so that no one can view your images, even if anyone ever hacks the platform.

The Cons: You don’t get HD exports on his free plan (not even 720px, only 480px). And you’re going to have to pay extra for stock audio and video.

Pricing: Clipchamp has a free version with some minimal features, and you’ll have to pay US$ 9 a month for a Creator account, and US$ 19 for a Company account if you want to upgrade it.

Powtoon’s

We have seen three video editors that are great for editing scenes of live-action or even stock footage. But if making animations is what you’re looking for, there are fewer choices. One of them is Powtoon, a very basic animation program that will allow you to create simple cartoon videos using plenty of shapes, animated characters, and other props templates.

One cool feature is that you can import Photoshop designs directly to Powtoon, so you might end up with pretty awesome-looking videos if you’re familiar with Photoshop. Not bad for a video editor online!

The Pros: Very easy to use (they even have a lot of tutorials on how to use the platform, if you need them). You also have a lot of pre-designed models for making a nice-looking animated video that you can use.

The Cons: You won’t be able to view the videos if you’re using the free plan, just post them on social media.

Pricing: If you purchase an annual membership, it will cost US$ 19 per month for a basic Pro plan, and US$ 99 per month for an organization.

There are several more video editors out there online, but hopefully, they gave you a general idea of the possibilities you can make with these tools, as well as the pricing and the amount of artistic freedom you can have with them. An online editor is, at the end of the day, just a tool like any other. It won’t be because of the editor app you select if you want your video to be successful, but because of the artistic effort, you put into it. So, are you ready to begin editing fantastic videos? Spielberg, get to it!
