How to Make a Group Chat on Snapchat | Snapchat Group Chat in 2021

Snapchat is great for messaging friends individually, but when you can do it with a group of friends, it’s even more fun. It’s simple to learn how to make a group on Snapchat, and the best part is that as many different groups can be created as you want!

HOW TO MAKE A GROUP CHAT ON SNAP

  • On your iOS or Android device, open the Snapchat app and, if necessary, sign in to your account
  • Tap the speech bubble icon at the bottom left of the screen or swipe to the right of the screen to navigate to the Friends tab.
  • With the pencil in the top right corner of the Friends tab, tap the speech bubble.
  • You should see a text cursor flickering at the top of the New Chat screen in the To: area. Start typing a friend’s first name or username that you want to add to your group, and then select it from the below list. Alternatively, scroll down to manually pick a mate.
For all of the friends that you want to add to your party, repeat step four. You can add a single party of up to 31 friends.
  • Once all the friends you want in your group have been added, you can optionally name the group by clicking New Group at the top of the screen and entering a name.
  • To build a group, tap the blue Group Chat button. Group chat will open automatically, so you can immediately start chatting.

How to Manage Your Group on Snapchat

By tapping the menu icon on the top left of the page, you can control your Snapchat party from inside the group chat. In the community, you will see a list of friends along with other options that allow you to do the following:

  • Share with the group your position
  • Edit the name of a community
  • Switch on the setting for Do Not Disturb
  • Auto-save stories from the party
  • Incorporate more mates into the party
  • Leaving the party

WHERE TO FIND YOUR GROUP

Previous versions of the Snapchat app used the Friends tab to view the Groups tab, but that feature has since been disabled in newer versions. If you communicate with your community regularly, the group will be listed on your Friends tab in your most recent conversations, the same way that conversations you have with individual friends are listed there.

To open the group chat, simply tap the group name from your Friends tab. You will locate a group by clicking the magnifying glass or search field at the top of the screen on every tab and looking for the group name if you have not communicated with a group in a while or cleaned up your conversations.

How to Use Your Snapchat Group

With your Snapchat party, there are three key ways to interact: Chat: This is the function of the most obvious and simple group. To open the chat, just tap the group name and start chatting via text (with options to send photos, snaps from Memories, Bitmoji stickers and more). After 24 hours, chats sent in groups are automatically deleted.

Snaps: When you take a new picture or video snap from the camera tab, you can pick a group name to send to everyone in the group from your friends list.

Video Chat: You can start video chatting in a group from a group chat with up to 15 friends.
