How to Find iPhone, iPad, iPod and Mac Serial Number


This is a general procedure that you can use to find the serial number of an iPhone, iPad, iPod, HomePod, Mac, or other Apple products.

  1. On the surface of your product.
  2. In iTunes, if your product syncs with iTunes.
  3. On a Mac, by choosing About This Mac from the Apple menu.
  4. On an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, iPod, or Apple Watch, in Settings > General > About.

How to Find Apple Watch Serial Number or IMEI

This process will guide you to easily find the serial number or IMEI for your Apple Watch –  Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) and Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS + Cellular).

To find the Serial Number or IMEI for your Apple Watch,

  1. On your Apple Watch, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap General > About, then scroll down.
  3. Look for Serial Number or IMEI.

Note, If you do not have your Apple Watch with you can use your iPhone instead. To do this,

  1. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
  2. Tap the My Watch tab, > tap General > About.
  3. Look for Serial Number or IMEI.

How to Find iPod Serial Number

This process will guide you to easily find the serial number of your iPod nano, iPod shuffle, or iPod touch. The serial number can be found in several places.

Depending on the model of your iPod, you will find the serial number either on the back case or on or below the clip.

1. On the back Case

For iPod nano and iPod touch you can find the serial number engraved on the back case toward the bottom.

For iPod shuffle (4th generation) and iPod nano (6th generation), you can find your serial number on the clip face that touches the back of the device when the clip is closed.

You can find your serial number in the About screen on your iPod touch or iPod nano (6th generation or later).

How to Find Mac Serial Number and Model Name

Follow the steps below to find your Mac Serial Number and Model Name

1. Use About This Mac

From the Apple menu () in the upper-left corner of your screen, choose About This Mac. When you choose About This Mac it will show you an overview of your Mac, including the name and version of its operating system; and it’s model name, and its serial number:

2. Use System Information

You can use the System Information app to see your Mac hardware, software, and network information summary. To do that,

  1. Go to utility folder of your Applications folder
  2. Open the System Information app or better still, click the System Info (or More Info) button in About This Mac.
  3. Select Hardware on the left side of the window, then find the model name and serial number on the right:

If you can’t use About This Mac or System Information to check for your serial number, then you can simply check your device receipt or invoice to find your iOS device serial number.
