Steps on How to Create a Facebook Business Page
However, to learn more about how to build a Facebook business page and best practices, you can also follow these five steps:
Log In to Facebook & Create a New Page
Shortcut: Log in to Facebook > Create > Page
Using a personal Facebook account, Facebook business pages are built, so you’ll need to log into your Facebook account first. Then, find and click the “Create” button on the right-hand side of the blue toolbar.
Select “Page” From the Menu
After clicking ‘Create,’ a drop-down list will appear. To create your Facebook business page, select the first choice, ‘Page.’
2. Enter Your Business Information
Shortcut: Input Page Name > Category > Description > Click “Create Page”
Input your basic business information, such as your page name or company name, category, and a description of your company, on the following screen. When done, at the bottom of the screen, press the ‘Build Page’ button.
3. Upload Your Profile Picture & Cover Photo
Shortcut: Upload Profile Picture > Upload Cover Photo
Next, upload the profile picture of your business page and cover photo. Businesses typically use their logo as a profile picture, but you can use any image that reflects your company’s identity and your business. Click the “Save” button at the bottom when done.
Try to make sure that your cover picture is visually attractive and representative of your business. Use Canva to build your Facebook business page cover picture to prevent sizing problems. It’s free to use, and you can use hundreds of predesigned templates to make your cover photo easily.

4. Add Relevant Info & Customize Your Business Page
Next, create your Facebook business page with more information about your company and what it provides. Use specific call-to-action (CTA) buttons and integrations to give page visitors a way to communicate with you.
First, scroll down and find the “Add More Information” section and click the corresponding “Get Started” button. This is where you enter information about your company that informs readers how to reach you to your goods or menu. Enter all necessary information, such as your website, hours, and contact details. Be sure to complete all pages, as it will be the first reference point for your company for a potential client.
5. Add a Button to Your Page
Attach a CTA button to the page after you have inserted all your important data into your Facebook business page. This will be shown below your cover photo to page visitors in the top right hand of your page, and it offers visitors a way to quickly take a particular action, such as following, ordering food, shopping, booking now, calling now, learning more, or sending an email. A related CTA button will, in return, help to generate more leads and, subsequently, increase sales.
To do this, on the left-hand side of your page below your cover picture, click the blue choice ‘+ Add a Button’. Then, pick the action you want your visitors to take and follow the instructions to complete the setup.
6. Change Your Template & Update Tabs
Shortcut: More > Edit Tabs
On the screen’s left-hand side, Facebook business pages can be modified to include various tabs or menu choices. By individually changing your business page template or editing tabs, you can customize which tabs are displayed.
To do this, from your business page, click on the “More” button and then pick “Edit Tabs” from the options. You can change your template on the following screen and choose which tabs to use, and view your page using the on/off toggle. You can also drag and drop the tabs by reordering them.
7. Configure Advanced Settings
In terms of customizing your Facebook business profile, you can see on the left side of the screen that you have a number of additional choices. However, not all options would suit every company (and their goal of using Facebook). It is worth familiarizing yourself with the available options to see if any fits your company, your goals, and your audience.
For example, if you have several people who need access to your Business Page, say a social media coordinator responsible for publishing social posts and a community manager accountable for moderating your Facebook group, under “Page Roles,” you can create new users with different roles. You can also do things such as customize messaging settings, link WhatsApp, or even sell event ti ti ti.
8. Promote Your Business Page
It’s time to get to work and put it to work after you’ve built your new Facebook company. You would need to promote it to achieve this. There are a variety of ways to make your business page available online and out there. Invite your friends to your new business page, to begin with. This will help you attract an audience instantly.
You can then promote your company page in various ways, depending on your company, from adding a link to your company page to your website or email signature to adding a link to it on online lists such as Yelp and Google My Business.
Ways to promote your Facebook business page:
- Please share it on your other social accounts (e.g., Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and so on).
- Link to it on your business website.
- Add it as a social link in your professional email signature.
- Link your Facebook business page to your Google My Business Page.
- Add a link to your Facebook business page to your online directory profiles (e.g., Yelp)
- Join and engage with relevant groups and individuals on Facebook.
- Create and post share-worthy content, so your friends share your posts.
Creating a Facebook business page is just the first step in your company’s use of Facebook marketing. To advertise your page and build an audience, you will need to be active on Facebook. You would not only want to be consistent with posting on your website, for instance, but you will also want to participate regularly in relevant groups where your target audience is likely to spend their time.
Therefore, while developing a Facebook business page is easy, it can be challenging for small businesses to use it as a marketing tool effectively. Companies that make fair use of Facebook expend time and money strategically using it.
If you don’t have the time (or the interest if you’re like many) to do it on your own, consider leaving it to the experts. You can be shocked to hear that you can employ a pro for as little as $5 to handle your social account on your behalf.
