Step 1
Clear the Cache and Temporary Data
If you use Facebook Marketplace in the web browser of the system and the marketplace unexpectedly stops running, then the browser cache or temporary data of the system will cause an issue with your online experience. Clearing the cache or temporary data will solve the problem in that situation. We’re going to clear Chrome’s cache and temporary data for example purposes.
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Click on the Profile picture next to the hamburger menu (dots) and click on your Gmail address in the corresponding menu.
- In the Settings, Window click on Turn Off.
- At the top right, click on Hamburger Menu (the 3 dots).
- Click on More tools and in the Sub-Menu Clear browsing data.
- Choose a time range, like the Last hour or All time.
- Select the categories that you want to be removed. You can also sign out just to clear data on the device while keeping it in your Gmail account.
- Click Clear data.
If you’re using a different one than Chrome, you can take measures specific to your browser.
Visit the following support articles to clear Facebook’s app cache and data if you are using Facebook Marketplace on a mobile device. This refers to both iOS and Android.
PRO TIP: You can consider using Restore Repair if the problem is with your device or laptop/notebook, which will search the repositories and patch corrupt and incomplete data. In certain situations, where the problem is caused by machine incompetence, this works. By clicking here, you can download Restore.
Try to use the marketplace again after clearing the cache and temporary data. If the issue continues, switch to the next solution.
Step 2
Disable 3rd Party Add-ons
The majority of web browsers support add-ons/plugins/extensions from third parties. These add-ons add the web browser’s new features & functionality. Malicious add-ons or extensions can cause Facebook to act abnormally, and these add-ons allow your Facebook account information to be viewed, copied, and even edited by third parties. And it can limit its access when Facebook detects abnormal behavior on your account.
So, removing add-ons to the web browser could solve your problem. Follow the instructions unique to your browser to uninstall specific add-ons from your browser, and we will remove 3rd party extensions from Chrome for illustration purposes.
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- Near the top right corner, click the Hamburger Menu (the 3 dots) than in the menu appearing click on More Tools, and then in the sub-menu appearing click on Extensions.
- Go to the extension you want to remove, and at the bottom of the box, click Remove.
- Confirm by clicking Remove.
If you’re using a different one than Chrome, you can take measures specific to your browser.
After the malicious add-ons, plugins, etc. have been disabled, and if the issue is fixed, check if it is not transferred to the next solution.
Step 3
Try a Different Browser
If you access the Facebook Marketplace from a browser and that browser has problems with Facebook Marketplace compatibility/accessibility, then you will run into the issue of not operating on the Facebook Marketplace. In that case, the issue can be solved by accessing the Facebook Marketplace with a different browser.
- Download and install another browser of your liking.
- Run that Browser.
- Visit Facebook Marketplace and see if the problem is solved.
If not, move to the next solution.
Step 4
Reinstall the Application
You try to enter the mobile Facebook Marketplace and face the marketplace question, then the problem can be solved by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. If you own an iPhone, or PlayStore if you own an Android device, you can navigate to the App Store.
After reinstalling the Facebook app, verify that the issue is fixed, or switch to the next solution if not.
Step 5
Revoke your Removed Marketplace Access.
- Login to your Facebook account.
- Click the Marketplace icon.
- Now Click the Request Review option.
- Fill the Request form.
- After a few days, the Facebook Team will respond to your appeal.
- Check your Support inbox every day.
You will enter the Marketplace when your appeal is approved.
Hopefully, the Facebook Marketplace not working mistake has been fixed. If not, try using the Facebook Marketplace on another platform to see if your device has an issue with the Facebook Marketplace.
TIP: If none of the approaches have fixed the problem for you, we suggest that you use the Restore Repair Tool that can search repositories to replace missing and corrupted data. In certain situations, where the problem is caused by machine incompetence, this works. For optimal efficiency, Restore can also optimize your system. By clicking here, you can download Restore.
