  • Let the snap linger on the Friends screen after you’ve seen it.
  • You won’t be able to replay the snap if you switch to another screen inside the app or close Snapchat.
  • You can see two pieces of text flickering back and forth under your friend’s name after seeing their snap that you’d like to repeat.
  • Tap to Talk is the name of one of them. It toggles between pressing and keeping to replay and then going again.
  • Keep down your finger on your friend’s name before their snap reloads, which should take just a second. If it’s a picture snap, a solid red square appears next to their name when it’s done loading; if it’s a video snap, a solid purple square appears.
  • You can replay your friend’s snap after it reloads by displaying it in the same way you would a normal snap.
  • If you want to replay a friend’s snap, your friend will receive a message that you have done so. This is true for both photos and videos.
  • Once you’ve replayed a snap, you won’t be able to do so again. Tell your friends to make their snaps loop or have no limit.
  • Want to avoid missing out on your mates’ snaps and replaying them? Request that they do one thing to assist you.

Photo snaps could only be used for 10 seconds until they expired, and video snaps could only be watched once until they expired. Users can now set their images to have no time limit and their videos to loop when they are watched. You can display a picture snap with no time limit or a looping video snap for as long as you like before you tap the button to exit it. You also have the option of replaying it if you so like.

After taking a picture or capturing a video, tell your friends (perhaps in a chat) to tap the timer button at the bottom of the vertical menu on the right side of the screen. When taking a screenshot, the button resembles a stopwatch with an infinity symbol. The icon looks like a circular arrow with an infinity sign if it’s a video snap.

Video snaps can be set to loop automatically, and picture snaps can be changed to have no time limit. Your friends just need to do this once, and then these will be the default settings for all future picture and video snaps.
