For the First Time, Link Google Home to Wi-Fi

You’ll need the Google Home app for iOS or Android to connect your Google Home computer to your existing Wi-Fi network. Before you start, make sure you have the app downloaded. Also, make sure you have the name and password for your wireless network on hand.

  • Open the Google Home app on your phone.
  • Choose or enter the Google account you want to connect to your Google Home device.
  • On the iOS or Android system, activate Bluetooth if prompted.
  • The Google Home device should be discovered by the app. Next should be tapped.
  • A sound should be generated by the speaker. Pick Yes if you hear this sound.
  • Select your device’s position on the Where is this device screen (for example, Living Room).
  • Give your Google Home speaker a unique name.
  • Choose the network to which you want to link the Google Home computer from the list of available Wi-Fi networks, then tap Next.
  • Tap Connect after entering the Wi-Fi network password.
  • After a short pause, a stable connection message appears.

Join a New Wi-Fi Network with Google Home

Take the steps below if your Google Home speaker was set up but now needs to be wired to a new Wi-Fi network or an existing network with a different password.

  • Open the Google Home app on your phone.
  • The computer button is in the upper-right corner of the keyboard. Tap it.
  • You’ll see a list of your Google Home devices, each with its own name and image that you mentioned. Tap the Menu button on the computer you want to connect to Wi-Fi with (the three horizontal lines in the upper-right corner of the speaker card).
  • Pick Settings from the pop-up menu that appears.
  • Tap Wi-Fi in the Device settings section after scrolling down.

You’ll see the Wi-Fi settings for the Google Home computer. Select Forget This Network if the Google Home is already linked to a network.

  • To confirm, select Forget Wi-Fi Network.
  • Click the system button once more on the app’s home screen.
  • Add a New Device is the choice.
  • You’ll be prompted to open the Wi-Fi settings on your iOS or Android computer and link to the personalized Google Home hotspot in the network list. This hotspot is identified by a name followed by four digits, or by the custom name you assigned to your Google Home computer during the setup process.
  • Select your device’s position on the Where is this device screen (for example, Living Room).
  • Give your Google Home speaker a unique name.
  • Choose the network to which you want to link Google Home from the list of available Wi-Fi networks. Then press Next.
  • Tap Connect after entering the Wi-Fi network password.
  • After a short pause, a stable connection message appears.

To return to the Google Home app, press the back button. A sound should be generated by the speaker. Pick Yes if you heard this sound.
