Facebook Opens Off-Facebook Activity Tool to Everyone
We’ve all had the experience of looking at a pair of shoes on the internet only to find shoe advertisements in our Facebook feed. It’s how Facebook marketers persuade us to buy products; obviously, if we’re looking at them, we’re more likely to buy.
Now, Facebook has made a tool available to all of us, which was soft-launched last August and allows us to handle this knowledge transfer. The Off-Facebook Activity Tool, as its name implies, will allow you to see what is being sent to Facebook and, if desired, delete it.
In a blog post, Mark Zuckerberg said, “As of today, our Off-Facebook Activity tool is open to people on Facebook around the world.” “Other businesses give us data about your activities on their pages, which we use to display the ads that are important to you. You will now see a list of that information and, if you like, delete it from your account.”

Though sharing this information is still part of Facebook’s business model, using a tool to handle it is a positive move toward transparency and privacy control.
Facebook’s worldwide update honors Data Privacy Day, and the announcement also contained details on two other initiatives. According to Zuckerberg, the Privacy Checkup Tool was recently updated, and you’ll soon see another prompt to go through it and make sure your account is as safe as you’d like it to be.
Furthermore, Zuckerberg mentioned the Login Notifications settings, which were introduced in January 2020. This will notify you when you use Facebook’s Login system to log into third-party applications, games, and streaming platforms. Knowing is half the fighting, after all.

How to Delete Facebook on iPhone
This article will show you how to uninstall your Facebook account on an iPhone and what you should do first. It also clarifies the distinctions between removing and deactivating.
How to Delete Your Facebook Account from the iPhone App Permanently
You can permanently delete your Facebook account using the Facebook app for iPhone after you’ve disconnected your apps and downloaded any data you want to save. (To learn more about this, scroll down.)
- On your iPhone, open the Facebook app and tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner. The Facebook menu will appear.
- After that, go to Settings & Privacy, then Settings.
- Select Account Ownership and Control from the drop-down menu.
- Tap Deactivation and Deletion on the Account Ownership and Control page.
- Then tap Continue to Account Deletion after tapping Delete Account.
It’s a little crowded on the Account Deletion page. Ignore the first option to deactivate your account; instead, use the other options on the page to save your posts or download a copy of your personal data. When you’ve saved all of your personal information, tap Delete Account and confirm that you want to do so.
If you decide within 30 days that you want to keep your account, restart the Facebook app and log in to prevent it from being deleted.
