Understanding WOW Email

Wide Open West, also know as WOW, is a cable, phone and internet provider with service in diverse places around the United States. Any WOW internet clientele can get up to five email accounts, including the cable account, each with at least a gigabyte in email storage. If you own a WOW business account instead of a home internet account, there is a distinct process for help setting up and configuring your email.

Same with any other email accounts, you access your WOW email through the WOW website or by using an e-mail program on your computer or Andriod phone. You can get the specifics on how to configure your devices to have access to your e-mail account through the WOW website or by calling customer service.

Bear it in mind that if you don’t use your WOW email account for more than three months, it may be removed, according to the company.

Setting Up WOW Email

You can put up an email program on your phone or computer to access your WOW email accounts. Input your email address and password when you’re required to do so. If you’re not certain about your username and password, reach out to WOW customer service for assistance.

Configure your incoming and outgoing e-mail server to Specify that the server needs authentication to send an email and cut off a secure socket layer and secure password authentication setting(s). Set the outgoing mail port to port 587.

You can either make use of the POP or IMAP email arrangements to connect to WOW email, depending on what your system currently supports. IMAP is a newer, but more flexible service that enables you to store up your email on the mail server and access it from various devices.  So you may likely want to choose IMAP, unless your system doesn’t support it. If you’re using IMAP, set the incoming mail server port to port 143. For POP, use port 110.

WOW also provides thorough guidelines for setting up your account with variations of popular email programs, including Microsoft Outlook and Apple Mail. Scrutinize the WOW site to see if there are guidelines for your favorite app. If you like, you can also access your email through the WOW webmail client. Contact WOW technical support if you come across any difficulties.

Using Other Email With WOW

Also note that you can use your WOW account to link to other email providers, including webmail services such as Microsoft’s Outlook, Google’s Email, YahooMail, or other email services you are provided through your employer or school. In the latter case, work with the company or institution that supplied the account for information on how to connect and what sorts of server settings you should use. Usually, your choice of internet provider won’t change how you connect to third-party mail services.

If you’re having difficulties connecting to your email or other services through WOW, and the services do not seem to be down, contact WOW to see if there is an issue with your internet connection. You can also troubleshoot your connection by restarting your modem and router and seeing if all sites and apps, or only some sites are out of reach.
