WHERE DO YOU GO IF YOU FIND A HOLE?
If you discover a hole in your carpet in a conspicuous spot, rather than covering it up with a rug or table, why not fix it?

Patching a small hole in your carpet is the simplest way to cover it up without having to hire a professional:

Using a capped pen, draw a square or circle around the hole.

To cut out the shape, use a special carpet knife.
Carefully remove the carpet from the affected area.
To use as a patch, locate a piece of undamaged carpet. This should match the color/pattern of the affected region exactly. You may use a piece of leftover carpet or one from a well-hidden spot, such as behind a cupboard.

Use the patch as a template for the affected region. Make a new form and cut it out.
Using double-sided carpet tape, carefully insert the patch into the hole.

By carefully stroking the entire surface in the same direction with a roller or dry cloth, the new patch will blend into the existing carpet. This will soften the edges of your craftsmanship and give you a carpet that appears brand new!

If you find a hole in your carpet, a craft knife can come in handy.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CARPET HAS PULLS IN IT
Have you discovered a snag in your carpet? To solve the problem, simply follow these simple steps:
Trim the snag/pull.

Gently push the snag to one side so you can see the gap where it came from. Place a small amount of fabric glue in the gap. Guide the snag back into the hole with the tip of a pen or other long thin tool.

Allow to dry before trimming your pets’ nails to avoid a repeat of the problem!

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CARPET IS WET
When you come across a wet carpet, you must act quickly to avoid mould growth and eradicate odors. This is what you must do:

To begin, examine the situation to determine the source of moisture. If the water is from flooding or sewage, the carpet is usually not safe to maintain, and you should not attempt to fix the situation yourself.

If the water came from a broken pipe, for example, it’s usually OK to clean the carpet once the source of the water has been stopped; however, it’s preferable to dry your carpet within 48 hours to avoid mould spores growing. To dry carpet, you can use fans or a wet-vac. That’s that about “Learn How to Repair Your Carpet, From Holes to Carpet Patch Repair!”
