The process of setting up your AirPods is simple, whether you’re a brand new Apple AirPods owner or have recently purchased a non-Apple device.

We’ve already covered how to pair AirPods with Apple devices, so this article will focus on connecting AirPods to Android, Windows, Chromebooks, and other non-Apple devices.

Simply turn on your device’s Bluetooth, activate AirPods pairing mode, then pick your AirPods from the Bluetooth device list to pair your AirPods. Let’s get this party started.

Are AirPods compatible with Android, Chromebooks, Windows, and other PCs? Yes, to put it succinctly. Any Bluetooth-enabled device that supports headphones can be paired with AirPods.

While you won’t be able to utilize Siri when using your AirPods with a non-Apple device (surprise! ), you should be able to listen to music and make phone calls as usual. Consider joining up for our free Tip of the Day if you want to learn more about your Apple AirPods settings.

How to Use AirPods with Non-Apple Products to Locate the Bluetooth Menu
You can skip this section and start connecting your AirPods if you already know how to enter the Bluetooth menu on your non-Apple device.

I’ve added some quick comments on how to reach your Bluetooth menu on popular devices for individuals who are inexperienced with Bluetooth devices. Before you begin the pairing process in the section below, check sure your device’s Bluetooth is turned on.

  • To go to the Bluetooth menu on Android, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  • Select the Connections option.
  • Bluetooth should be selected.
  • If Bluetooth isn’t already turned on, click to turn it on.
  • On a Chromebook, go to the Bluetooth menu:
In the lower right corner of your home screen, select the user menu.
  • Bluetooth should be selected.
  • If Bluetooth isn’t already turned on, click to turn it on.
  • On Windows, go to the Bluetooth menu:
    Open the Settings menu.
  • Go to Devices and choose it.
  • Choose from a variety of Bluetooth and other devices.
  • If Bluetooth isn’t already turned on, click to turn it on.

How to Connect Your AirPods to a Device That Isn’t an Apple Device
If you haven’t already done so in the previous step, ensure sure your device is Bluetooth enabled. After you’ve done that, follow the steps below to pair your AirPods with your smartphone.

  • Close the case and place both AirPods inside.
  • On the rear of the case, press and hold the white button.
  • To signal pairing mode, the AirPods status light will flicker white.
  • In Bluetooth settings, choose your Apple AirPods from the device list.

It’s as simple as that! When you take your AirPods out of the case after they’ve been paired with your device, they’ll immediately connect (as long as Bluetooth is enabled on your device).
