There are a few different ways to delete apps on your iPhone depending on the version of iOS you have. You may uninstall apps from the Home Screen of your iPhone, erasing any saved data.

If you decide to reinstall an app, you can unload it to keep its data and settings. You can also hide apps from your Home Screen and still access them through the App Library if you have iOS 14 or later.

It may be time to uninstall, hide, or offload apps on your iPhone if you frequently find yourself browsing through pages and pages of apps you never use.

On every iOS version, you can delete or uninstall an app. With iOS 14, you may now hide an app from your Home Screen while still keeping it in your App Library.

On iOS 11 or later, you can also unload an app, which deletes the app but keeps its data.

Here’s how to accomplish everything.
On an iPhone, how do you delete apps?
If you’re unsure about your iOS version, open the Settings app, press “General,” then “About.” Next to “Software Version,” you’ll see your current iOS version.

In iOS 14, there are a lot of new features.

Locate the program you wish to uninstall, then tap and hold the icon for a few seconds.

Select “Remove App” from the pop-up menu.

Select “Remove App” from the drop-down menu.

Then, in the following pop-up, select “Delete App” and hit “Delete” once more.

iOS 13 is the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system.

Find the app you wish to uninstall on your Home Screen, then tap and hold your finger down on its icon.

Tap “Rearrange Apps” in the pop-up menu.

All of your apps will begin to jiggle, and small “X” icons will emerge at the top of all of the ones you can uninstall.

Any program you choose to delete should have a “X” next to it.

A menu will appear, requesting confirmation that you want to delete it. To remove the app, tap “Delete.”

iOS 12 and previous versions
Press and hold the symbol of the app you wish to uninstall on your Home Screen. Wait for all the symbols on your screen to start jiggling and little “X” marks to appear at the top of each one, which may take one or two seconds.

Tap the “X” in the top-left corner of the app you wish to get rid of.

Tap “Delete” on the pop-up. Otherwise, press “Cancel” and start over with the right app.

If you delete an app by accident, you’ll have to re-download it from the App Store because there is no “undo” button for app deletion.

If you wish to delete an app while keeping its data, try hiding it from your Home Screen or offloading it, which are both discussed below.

With iOS 14, you may hide apps on your iPhone.

Only iOS 14 and later have the option to hide apps from your Home Screen and keep them in your App Library.

Then choose “Remove from Home Screen” from the drop-down menu. The app will now be transferred to your App Library and hidden from your Home Screen.

On an iPhone, how do you dump an app?

You can unload an app instead of completely wiping it and all of its data. Offloading the app removes it from your iPhone but saves the data, allowing you to resume where you left off when you reinstall it.

Open the Settings app on your phone.

Choose “iPhone Storage” from the drop-down menu.

Scroll down to a list of apps and tap the one you’re looking for.
