Because each scanner is unique, refer to the user handbook provided by the manufacturer for advice on how to connect your scanner to your computer.

2
In the scanner, place your document. This is the document you wish to convert to PDF.

3
Press the Start button. In the bottom-left corner of the screen, click the Windows logo.

4
In Start, type fax and scan. This will look for the Fax and Scan application on your computer.

5
Select Fax and Scan from the drop-down menu. At the top of the Start window, there’s a printer-shaped icon. This will launch the Fax and Scan software on your computer.

6
Select New Scan from the drop-down menu. The Fax and Scan window’s upper-left side contains this button. It opens a new window when you click it.

7
Ensure that your scanner is turned on. If your network has multiple scanners, be sure the one shown in the “Scanner” column at the top of the window is the one you wish to use.

If the scanner you want to use isn’t currently selected, click Change… and then select the scanner.

8
Choose a document type. Select one of the following options from the “Profile” drop-down box:

Scan with ten clicks. It can be found near the bottom of the window. As a result, your paper will start scanning into your computer.

Before clicking Scan, you may also alter the color options here.
11
Select File from the menu bar. You’ll click this tab in the upper-left corner of the window once your document has finished scanning. There will be a drop-down menu.

Press the Print button…. It can be found in the drop-down menu.

13
Select “Printer” from the drop-down box. This can be found in the upper-left corner of the Print window.

Select Microsoft Print to PDF from the drop-down menu. In the Printer drop-down menu, you’ll find it.

If this isn’t an option, scan your image into your computer as an image, then convert it to a PDF using the usual settings.

15
Press the Print button. This option is located in the window’s lower-right corner.

16
Choose a location to save your work. On the left side of the window, select a folder.

17
Give your PDF a unique name. Do so in the field to the right of the heading “File name.”

Method number two of three:
On a Mac,
1
Make a connection between your scanner and your computer. You can connect wirelessly using your home Wi-Fi if your scanner supports it, or you can connect via USB cord depending on your scanner.

Because each scanner is unique, refer to the user handbook provided by the manufacturer for advice on how to connect your scanner to your computer.

2
In the scanner, place your document. This is the document you wish to convert to PDF.

3
Press the Enter key. This menu item can be found in the upper-left corner of your Mac’s screen, in a row of selections.

If you don’t see Go, start a new Finder window or click your Mac’s desktop.

4
Go to the Applications tab. The Go drop-down option has it near the bottom. The Applications folder on your Mac will open.

5
Select Image Capture with a double-click. The symbol for this program looks like a camera. The Image Capture window will appear.

It’s possible that you’ll have to scroll down to discover Image Capture.

6
Choose a scanner. In the upper-left corner of the window, click the name of your scanner.

7
Decide on the type of scanner you want to use. Select one of the following options from the drop-down box next to “Scan Mode”:

If your documents are fed into the scanner using a chute, use this option. Scans numerous documents into a single PDF.

If your scanner has a lid that you pull up to place the papers, choose flatbed.

9
Select Format from the Format drop-down box. It’s in the middle of the page on the right side.

Click here for a PDF version. The Format drop-down menu contains this option. This assures that your document will be scanned and saved in PDF format.

If this isn’t an option, scan your image into your computer as an image, then convert it to a PDF using the usual settings.

11
Press the Scan button. It’s at the window’s bottom-right corner. When you select this option, your document is scanned into your computer and saved as a PDF at the location you specify.

3rd of 3 methods:
Creating a PDF from a Scan Image File
1
Go to the PNG to PDF website and log in. In your computer’s web browser, go to http://png2pdf.com/. This website will allow you to convert a scanned image (e.g., a PNG) file into a PDF if you were unable to scan a document directly into a PDF.

Instead, go to http://jpg2pdf.com/ if you scanned your page onto your computer as a JPG file.

2
Select UPLOAD FILES from the drop-down menu. It’s right in the center of the page. This launches the File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) application.

3
Choose the scanned image you want to use. Select your scanned image by going to the folder where it was saved and clicking it.

4
Click the Open button. It’s at the window’s bottom-right corner. This will save the image as a PNG (or JPG) and upload it to the PDF site.

5
Allow for the conversion of your image into a PDF. This shouldn’t take more than a few seconds.

6
Select DOWNLOAD from the drop-down menu. It’s in the centre of the window, below your converted file. As a result, your PDF will begin to download to your computer. That’s that about “How to Convert Paper Documents to PDF”
