Getting started with Dating for Facebook
Facebook Dating is not a separate app, it’s built into the site right away. If you have a Facebook account, because you’ll need one to access Dating, you’re already ahead of the game. Although your dating profile is separate, some of your data is collected from your other profile in the dating section.
Go to the Facebook app first, tap the menu icon in the upper right corner of your screen, and tap Dating. (then you’ll be taken to the Facebook Dating section. Click Get Started and follow the directions on the screen to set up a profile. You’ll need to specify the gender, location and pick a nice photo of yourself that you’re looking for.
From there, by skimming your non-dating profile, Facebook will automatically generate a dating profile for you.
By removing stuff, adding photos, and adding posts from your Instagram, you can then adjust the profile to exactly what you want by tapping on the Preview Profile option. Click on Done when you’re satisfied.
What’s going to happen next
Facebook is going to start sending you matches now. It can take several days for this process. Don’t worry, your current Facebook friends won’t be suggested by Facebook, and no one will see your dating stuff outside Facebook’s Dating section. When you get a notice, you will get a reminder. Match. On their Dating Feed, tap the Heart icon if you like the person you’re matched with.
Tap their profile photo to start a conversation with one of your matches, and the option to type a message appears. Tap the arrow icon when you’re done typing a witty introduction to send the message. You can access messages by tapping the Conversations button at the top of the feed display.
Would you like to match up with people with the same interests as you? Go to the menu, tap Suggestions From Your Events or Suggestions From Your Groups, tap an event or group, tap the next button, then tap See Suggested Matches.
How to produce Secret Crushes
Did someone have a crush and want to use Facebook to help you meet up? You can add up to nine of your Facebook friends or Instagram followers with the Secret Crush feature and notify them that someone has a crush on them via Facebook Dating if they have a dating profile, that is.
Dating will notify you both that if you have a crush on each other, you will have you both add each other as a secret crush. If no match exists, no one’s ever going to know about your crush.
In order to add a Secret Crush:
- Click menu
- Click Secret Crush
- Click Got It
- Click the + icon
- check for your crush’s name and add them by tapping the + icon next to their name
How to delete your profile on Facebook Dating
It’s easy to delete your dating profile if you’ve met Or just have second thoughts about using Facebook as your Cupid, the love of your life, and it won’t affect your other profile. From the Facebook menu options, go to Dating.
When you get a notice, you will get a reminder. Page, under the General area, tap Edit Profile, then tap Delete.
Facebook Dating Can’t Find You? You could still not have it. In the United States, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Singapore, Philippines, Suriname, Thailand, Uruguay, and Vietnam, it is currently open.
Facebook says Dating in Europe will be available by early 2020. If the one for you is not Facebook Dating, you can also turn your focus to other dating apps.
