How To Set Up a Facebook Dating Profile Using Your User Profile

How To Set Up a Facebook Dating Profile Using Your User Profile: A free dating service has formally been introduced by Facebook. It’s called Facebook Dating, and now in the US, it’s real. Here’s how things work.

What is Facebook Dating?

As a way for Facebook users to find meaningful connections through items they have in common, Facebook is pitching its latest dating service (i.e., similar interests and groups).

It is intended to take away the tediousness of getting a separate dating profile and even Instagram is integrated, so you can share Instagram posts directly to your dating profile. and add hidden crush lists to both Facebook friends and Instagram followers.

Of course, you might be cynical about dating on Facebook. Seeking a mate, after all, is super intimate, even though it is online. So, you have to opt-in for Facebook Dating to be used. You will also be able to report and block others, forbidding people to send pictures, videos, messages, and so on to you.

Other Features Of Facebook Dating

  • Facebook Dating helps you to add your Instagram posts to your profile.
  • You may choose to see people with common interests in activities and groups, but note that you will still be noticeable to them.
  • To ensure that you feel safer on a date, you can share details of the date – with your live location – via a friend on Facebook Messenger.
  • Facebook would make it easy to link Facebook and Instagram Stories to your dating profile by the end of the year as well.

Setting Up Facebook Dating With Your Profile

To ensure you’re running the new version of the app, update the Facebook iOS or Android app. A new tab located in the Facebook mobile app’s main menu will show Facebook Dating. Go to Facebook Dating and build a dating profile to opt-in (separate from your main profile).

You can fill in personal information about yourself, such as height, religion, job title, degrees and education, and whether you have kids, etc. Photos and details from your Facebook profile can also be recommended by Facebook, which you may edit or delete when building your dating profile.

Note: In order to use Facebook Dating, you must be 18 years old or older.

Finding A Match

Facebook Dating will ask you during setup to determine your gender and the gender(s) of the individuals you are interested in matching on the service. You’ll see gender choices that are inclusive, such as cis woman, trans woman, cis male, trans man, and non-binary individual, and you can pick whether you’re interested in any of them, women, men, trans women, or trans men. None of this information will be shared with prospective matches.

You will only be recommended to people who have opted for Facebook Dating, and individuals will be suggested to you on the basis of your likes, interests, and “other things you do on Facebook” You’re going to see relatives and friends and people not in your circle of friends.

If you both add each other to your ‘Secret Crush’ lists, Facebook Dating will not fit you with your Facebook friends. (Below, more on this.)

Contacting A Match On Facebook Dating

If you are interested in someone, you just comment directly on their Facebook dating profile or tap on the Like button to let them know if there is no swiping involved. You can transfer if you are not interested. All your operations will remain on Facebook Dating and will not be shared with Facebook.

What’s the list for Secret Crush?

Hidden Crush lets you pair up on Facebook and Instagram with people you already meet. To add a Hidden Crush list, you can pick up to nine of your Facebook friends or Instagram followers. (But, you must link your Instagram account to Facebook Dating to add Instagram followers).

Those individuals will then receive a message stating that someone has a crush on them. It’s a match if your crush adds you to their Secret Crush list, too. However, they won’t know a thing if your crush isn’t on Facebook Dating, doesn’t build a Hidden Crush list, or doesn’t place you on their list.
