How It Works

Starting today, if you are 18 or older and have downloaded the new version of Facebook, You can opt-in to Facebook Dating by selecting and build a Dating Profile (separate from your main profile). You will be recommended to those who have opted in as well. Based on your likes, interests, and other items you do on Facebook, individuals are advised. It’s not about swiping or having to wait for someone to like you to have a first chance to reach out. Facebook Dating You can directly comment on their profile if you are interested in anyone, or click on the Like button to let them know. You can move on to them if you are not involved. Facebook Dating helps you to match friends of friends and individuals who are not in your circle of friends. If you want to use Secret Crush and add each other to your list, Facebook Dating will not fit you with your friends. In Facebook Dating, all of your dating activity will remain. It won’t be shared with the rest of your Facebook account.

Key Features

• People will soon be able to connect and share with Facebook and Instagram Stories. Individuals are currently asked to instantly determine whether they like anyone based on a static profile. We’re bringing Stories to Dating to help you demonstrate, rather than tell, who you are. This format allows you to be honest in a way that a traditional dating profile can’t, and before and after you play, it lets you get to know someone.
• Hidden Crush helps you to fit individuals on Facebook and Instagram that you already know. Facebook Dating won’t fit you with your Facebook Friends by design. Still, people told us they were interested in exploring possible romantic relationships, such as their Facebook friend list and Instagram followers, within their extended circles. Our famous Secret Crush function gives you the option of doing just that. You can pick up to nine of your Facebook friends or Instagram followers you’re interested in if you want to use Secret Crush. (You must link your Instagram account to Facebook Dating to add Instagram followers.) If your Crush has opted into Facebook Dating, they will receive a message stating that someone has a crush on them. It’s a match if your Crush adds you to their Secret Crush list as well! If your Crush isn’t on Dating, doesn’t build a list of Hidden Crush, or doesn’t place you on their list, so no one will know that their name has been entered.
• Now, you can add your Instagram posts to your Facebook dating profile. It would be easier to create a better dating profile by adding Instagram posts to your profile, revealing facets of your life to others, and discovering mutual connections that spark conversation.
• To see people with common interests, opt into events and groups. You may choose to see other individuals who use Facebook Dating to suit your tastes within the groups you are part of and the events you have attended or may attend. You will also be clear to them when you want to see these individuals.
• Feel comfortable sharing your date information. People using Facebook Dating can share with someone they trust via Messenger details of their upcoming date and live location. If they want to choose this feature, they will be able to regulate it. They are in charge of who they share this data with if they do.
